I don't know if you have seen the 100happydays challenge - if you are active on social media, you probably have.
It might seem contrived ("We live in times when super-busy schedules have become something to boast about. While the speed of life increases, there is less and less time to enjoy the moment that you are in"), but I wanted to join in anyway.
I know I have tricky times coming up, with DS1 and his education challenges. (In addition to the smell related challenges of living with 3 teen/pre-teen boys. Urgh! What happens to those sweet baby feet? ) So I want to try to get into the habit of noticing the small things that make me happy. If you follow me on Instagram you will already have seen these, but I thought I'd share the photos each week. I might not make it to 100 days, but it will be interesting to see what happymaking things I notice as time goes on.
On a not really related note, do you remember my hair dye rant from last year. Turns out it may be an annual thing! I did try getting rid of the hair dye only to find that NOT being able to dye my hair when I'm bored or fed up made me miserable. Yes folks, I really am that shallow! I have determinedly not dyed my hair in 'natural' looking colours since then. I don't mind it being obvious that I dye my hair, but I am NOT going to try to hide the fact that I'm going grey. But even the (really nice) red colour that I had most recently was showing white roots. My hair grows really fast, so I have roots showing most of the time. now I don't mind dark roots showing - but I'm not so keen on white! So I removed the permanent dye using this stuff - which worked really well, leaving the natural roots and bleached lengths of hair. I think that possibly I have reached the point where there is enough white throughout for it to look ok. I guess I'll find out soon enough. I took a photo this morning - I am actually wearing make up for once, and this has an instagram filter on it (Amaro I think, if you are interested), but you can see that the white hair is blending quite well with the colour revealed after dye removal. I am still reserving my right to change colour when bored, but I think I want to grow it long again, and I like the idea of long naturally grey hair. I might try it :)
